Job description

Our construction business has delivered some of the world’s most exciting and iconic buildings, including BBC broadcasting house, the London olympic village, Bluewater and Trafford shopping centres, Canary Wharf and The Lloyds Building.

As an assistant design manager you will work hand in hand with the design manager and be accountable for liaison and management of the architectural and engineering design teams to ensure the timely delivery of quality information to the construction team to enable the realisation of the employer’s requirements.

You will be expected to ‘think outside of the box’ with a fresh pair of eyes and consider the design holistically. You will assist the design manager in ensuring the design intent is maintained by resolving design, buildability, safety, cost and programme issues from pre-construction through to handover. As your experience and knowledge grows, you will increasingly take personal ownership of mesign management duties.

Person requirements

Qualifications and experience requirements

  • A 2:1 in a design (architecture, building services, structural engineering), design management or construction related degree.
  • Some relevant and demonstrable work experience.
