East Leicestershire & Rutland CCG serves a registered population of around 315,000 patients and is formed of GPs from 32 practices in Melton, Rutland, Market Harborough, Blaby District, Oadby and Wigston, Lutterworth and surrounding areas. We commission health services worth approximately £300 million for people registered with our practices. Our vision and values underpin everything we do, and with the advantages that come with creating a new organisation, they give us the opportunity to improve the way the local NHS engages and communicates with our patients, public, clinicians, staff, partners and other stakeholders.

Band 5 – Communications and Engagement Officer
East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group offers an inspiring place to work, focused on ensuring people in our area have access to high quality healthcare close to home.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative professional who can write and tell interesting stories, enhance them with images and film and share them through a variety of channels. Whether the stories are used for press releases, social media, newsletters or engagement events, you’ll be skilled at tailoring your messages to different audiences.
Experience of working with the media is essential and you’ll need to thrive in a busy environment with competing deadlines and priorities. Naturally you will be a great communicator both in writing and in person and you’ll be a stickler for detail when it comes to proofreading, spelling and grammar.
You’ll have lots of opportunities to put your technical skills to good use so will be confident using a wide range of computer software and digital equipment.
With the credibility to have conversations about the future of health and care services in person and through a variety of channels, you will also play a key role in finding out what really matters to people and ensuring their views shape how we do things.
If you’re up for the challenge and want to find out more, please contact Emma Casteleijn, Head of Communications and Public Affairs on 0116 295 3405 for an informal discussion.
The closing date for applications is Monday 27 June, 2016 and interviews will be held on Tuesday 5 July, 2016.
We are an equal opportunities employer and all applications will be welcomed and considered regardless of a person’s age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
We welcome applications from disabled candidates and as we are a ‘Positive about Disabled People’ employer. Applicants need only meet the essential criteria to be invited to interview. We will also make any reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process, including the Job Description and Person Specification, to enable you to pursue your application, providing that you inform us of any special requirements.
